Patient Name : Hala Al-Masri
Age : 46
Gender : Female
Country of Origin : Jordan
Condition/Diagnosis: Tricuspid Valve Disease Treatment/ Surgery : Tricuspid Valve Replacement Surgery
For Hala Al-Masri from Jordan, the need for heart surgery came with a mixture of concern and uncertainty. She had many questions about her tricuspid valve condition and what treatment would mean for her daily life. The thought of undergoing heart surgery was not easy to accept, especially while trying to understand what would happen before, during, and after the procedure.
Hala and her family began exploring cardiac treatment options outside Jordan. India became part of their search as they looked for specialised heart care and a team experienced in valve surgery. Her medical reports and investigations were reviewed so that the treatment team could understand her case and discuss the available approach with her.
The decision to undergo tricuspid valve replacement surgery was something Hala wanted to make with a clear understanding of the process. She asked about the operation, hospital stay, recovery period, medication, and the precautions she would need to take afterwards. Having those conversations helped turn a frightening possibility into a more structured treatment plan.
Travelling from Jordan to India was another important step. Hala was leaving behind her familiar surroundings while preparing for a major cardiac procedure. Once she arrived in India, further consultations and pre-operative assessments helped her become comfortable with the treatment schedule and prepare for surgery.
On the day of the procedure, the nervousness was still there. Hala had spent time preparing herself, but entering the operating room made the seriousness of the moment impossible to ignore. Her family stayed close and waited for updates while the surgery was underway.
After the operation, the focus shifted to recovery. Hala needed time to regain her strength and adjust to the rhythm of post-operative care. Rest, medication, follow-up consultations, and gradually increasing activity became part of her routine.
She found that recovery was not about making one big leap back to normal life. Instead, it was a collection of smaller moments—sitting up more comfortably, walking a little farther, having more energy, and feeling more confident about managing the days ahead.
Her family remained an important part of the process. Their presence during the hospital stay and recovery gave her reassurance while she was far from home.
For Hala, travelling from Jordan to India represented a carefully considered decision in response to a significant heart condition. The journey included uncertainty, preparation, surgery, and recovery, with each stage bringing its own challenges and lessons.
Looking back on her experience, Hala said:
“Before the surgery, I was thinking about so many things at once—my heart, the operation, the journey to India and what life would be like afterwards. I found it helpful to slow everything down and discuss each part with the doctors. Once I understood the plan, I felt less overwhelmed. Recovery was a quieter experience than the surgery itself, but it required patience. I became encouraged by simple things that I might normally have taken for granted, like having enough energy to sit up, walk around and enjoy a normal conversation with my family.”
Thank You
